Welcome to the inaugural Remembrance Forest blog post.  We hope these posts are a helpful way for us to elaborate on some of the aspects of this project.  For the first entry, an overview seemed like a good way to start, so we wanted to explore the central concept of Remembrance Forest.

Trees represent many things, including growth and life.  Because their lifespans can extend long past our own, they can also be a part of our legacy.

For those reasons, we are starting this project because we think that tree planting is a perfect way to remember or celebrate life’s moments.  Our hope is that both the giver and recipient of a tree planting gift will feel that the tree planting connects them to the future, to nature, and to each other.

Unlike other tree-planting programs, our trees are safeguarded by a conservation easement. This legal protection ensures that the forest will never be logged, developed, or disturbed.

Your tree will grow within a larger restoration area, surrounded by native forests, prairies, and wetlands. This thriving habitat provides refuge for wildlife, cleans the air and water, and supports the health of the local ecosystem. Plus, with our replanting guarantee, any tree that doesn’t survive within the first five years will be replaced, ensuring that your tribute endures.
