Thoughtfully Planted, Naturally Meaningful
Native trees and shrubs are important to habitat restoration and provide numerous benefits to the land and local wildlife. At Remembrance Forest, all of our planted trees are native to the region and are chosen with expert care. With experience restoring and managing thousands of acres of land, we are skilled at understanding the topography, hydrology, and soils of a specific location in order to know what native habitat would be present. From that, we craft a diverse list of species to be planted in order to achieve that plant community.
Native trees provide numerous environmental benefits, such as improving air quality, filtering pollutants from water, and enhancing soil stability. They also provide habitat and food source for a wide variety of insects, birds, and mammals.
When you purchase a Remembrance Forest tree planting, you have the option to choose which species you would like planted for your loved one, including Oak, Hickory, Maple, Redbud, Dogwood, or Cherry. For more info about each of these species, check out their Remembrance Forest info pages.
But, if you would rather leave the decision up to the experts, then we are happy to make the choice for you and select the tree species at the time of planting. When the personalized email is sent, your gift recipient will be told that at native tree has been planted, which is just as meaningful and impactful.
